How To Get Delta Sky Club Lounge Access

There are a few different ways to gain Delta Sky Club Lounge access. We’ll address them below and include information regarding guest access.

Have the Right Credit Card

Platinum Cardholders from American Express

Customers with either the Amex Platinum card or Amex Business Platinum card can access Delta Sky Clubs (complimentary) when traveling on a same-day Delta-operated flight or Delta-marketed WestJet-operated flight booked through Delta (tickets starting with the number 006).

Effective February 1, 2025, Amex Platinum and Amex Business Platinum cardmembers will receive 6 Visits per year to the Delta Sky Club; to earn an unlimited number of Visits each year starting on February 1, 2025, the total eligible purchases on the Card must equal $75,000 or more between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, and each calendar year thereafter.

Guest Access: Amex Platinum cardholders may enter the club with up to 2 guests for $50 or 5,000 SkyMiles per guest. For Grab and Go entries, the guest fee is $25 per guest per visit.

Delta Reserve Credit Card Cardholders

Cardholders of the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card or Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card traveling on a Delta-coded, Delta-operated flight or Delta-marketed WestJet-operated flight booked through Delta (tickets starting with the number 006) can access Delta Sky Clubs free of charge.

Effective February 1, 2025, Delta Reserve cardmembers will receive 15 Visits per year to the Delta Sky Club; to earn an unlimited number of Visits each year starting on February 1, 2025, the total eligible purchases on the Card must equal $75,000 or more between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, and each calendar year thereafter.

Guest Access: Two guests or a spouse or domestic partner and children under 21 for $50 or 5,000 SkyMiles per guest. For Grab and Go entries, the guest fee is $25 per guest per visit.

Hot Tip:

If you’re interested in additional lounge access (other than strictly Delta Sky Clubs), check out our review on the best credit cards for lounge access.

Pay for Access (Medallion Elite Members Only)

Executive Membership

One-Year Rate: $1,495 or 149,500 SkyMiles

  • Includes unlimited Club access for the member and up to 2 guests per visit.
  • Requires same-day travel on Delta or its partners to access the Sky Club.
  • No partner lounge access.

Guest Access: Complimentary; 2 guests or spouse or domestic partner and children under 21; plus 2 additional for a discounted fee.

Individual Membership

One-Year Rate: $695 or 69,500 SkyMiles

  • Includes unlimited Club access for the member only.
  • Requires same-day travel on Delta or its partners to access the Sky Club.
  • No partner lounge access.

Guest Access: Discounted rate for guests; 2 guests or spouse or domestic partner and children under 21.

Unfortunately, Delta does not offer single visit passes to its Sky Club lounges.

Passengers flying on a Basic Economy ticket with a Sky Club membership (not through a credit card) no longer have access to the Sky Club. However, there’s a loophole: if you have an eligible American Express card, you’ll still be able to access the lounge.

Hot Tip:

We value Delta miles at 1.2 cents per point. Paying for either of these memberships with SkyMiles doesn’t make sense because you’re only getting a value of 1 cent per point. You’ll be better off saving your Delta SkyMiles for flights.

Fly in an Eligible Cabin

Delta One

  • Customers traveling on a domestic Delta flight in Delta One
  • Customers traveling in Delta One on an international Delta flight
  • Customers traveling on a domestic ticket that’s connecting to/from a same-day international Delta One flight

Guest Access: None

SkyTeam Premium Cabin Passenger

  • Customers traveling in Delta One on an international Delta flight or a domestic Delta flight connecting to/from a same-day international Delta flight* in Delta One or travel in international First/Business Class on a SkyTeam-operated flight
  • In order to qualify for Club access, the customer must be confirmed in the premium (first or business class) cabin for the international segment of their itinerary

Guest Access: None

Have Eligible Elite Status

SkyTeam Elite Plus (Delta Diamond, Platinum, or Gold Medallion Members)

  • SkyTeam Elite Plus traveling in any cabin on a SkyTeam international flight* or a SkyTeam domestic flight connecting to/from a same-day international flight (includes same-day travel on a Delta domestic flight connecting to an international Delta—or any other SkyTeam partner—flight). If traveling on an international itinerary, please show a frequent flyer credential for lounge access.
  • Note: SkyTeam Elite Plus benefits are provided only at the departure airport and not at the arrival airport unless connecting to a qualifying SkyTeam flight (SkyTeam Elite Plus benefits do not include access to third-party business lounges).
  • SkyMiles Gold, Platinum, or Diamond Medallion members must be flying Premium Select or Delta One to be able to access a Delta Sky Club Lounge. However, similar to the Basic Economy rules, if you have the correct credit card, you can still access the lounge as you normally would.

Guests Access: One complimentary guest (SkyTeam Elite Plus: Itinerary must include same-day international Travel on SkyTeam flight)

Hot Tip:

If you’re a SkyTeam Elite Plus member through a different SkyTeam carrier, you will still have access to the lounge, no matter the class of service you’re seated in.

Diamond Medallion Club Membership

  • Diamond Medallion members have 3 Choice Benefits selections, 1 can be used for an Individual Membership or 2 for an Executive Membership. For the 2024 Medallion year, an individual Sky Club membership will no longer be an option. If you wish to purchase the far more expensive Executive membership, you’ll still be able to do so but will need to utilize all 3 of your Choice Benefits picks.
  • Diamond Medallion members with complimentary Sky Club access through an eligible credit card can also select a Delta Sky Club guest pass as a Choice Benefit. This gives them unlimited Sky Club access for up to 2 guests per visit when those guests are traveling with the cardholder and holding a same-day ticket.

Guest Access: same as for purchased Individual and Executive Membership.

* Payment plan requires a one-year contract and initiation fee. See Terms and Conditions.

Priority Entry

Entry will be first given to these customers prior to those with general access:

Final Thoughts

If you fly frequently, having lounge access no doubt makes your travels much more comfortable. And if you’re a frequent Delta flyer, you might even have complimentary Delta Sky Club access via elite status!

If you’re set on wanting Delta Sky Club access, it’s worth looking at these lounge locations to see which type of membership makes the most sense for you. For example, becoming an Amex Platinum cardholder is a great option for lots of people because the card comes with loads of valuable benefits. And you’ll get more perks than signing up for a direct membership alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Delta Sky Club?

Delta Sky Clubs are Delta Air Lines’ airport lounges.

What does Delta Sky Club offer?

Most Delta Sky Club lounges offer perks like complimentary Wi-Fi, newspapers and magazines, a large selection of complimentary snacks and lighter fare, complimentary nonalcoholic beverages, and complimentary (as well as paid) alcoholic beverages, including premium wine, beer, and cocktails. Some Sky Club locations offer special amenities like showers and sun decks.

How much is Delta Sky Club access?

That depends. Some individuals may receive complimentary access based on their ticket, a specific credit card, or airline/SkyTeam status.

The Executive Membership annual cost is $1,495 or 149,500 SkyMiles. The Individual Membership annual cost is $695 or 69,500 SkyMiles.

Who has access to the Delta Sky Club Lounges?

A number of ticket holders on specific routes, individuals with certain credit cards, and many travelers with a specific airline/SkyTeam status are allowed complimentary access to Delta Sky Club lounges. See our article for complete details.

How much is a 1-day pass for Delta Sky Club?

Delta has eliminated 1-day Delta Sky Club passes.

Is the Delta Sky Club worth it?

That depends on how you like to spend your pre-flight time. If you have complimentary access, of course it is.

If you travel a lot and need a nice, quiet space to decompress before a flight, say with some food and drink, then this could certainly be a good option. Due to the expensive costs of individual membership, something to seriously consider would be getting the Amex Platinum card or the Amex Business Platinum card.

Both of these cards get you access if you’re flying on a Delta-operated flight, plus you also get access to a number of other premium lounges with Amex Centurion Lounge, Plaza Premium Lounges, and over 1,300 Priority Pass Lounges worldwide. Additionally, you receive tons of statement credits and other upscale perks. Now that’s starting to sound better than simply signing up for a Delta Sky Club membership, isn’t it?
