The Business Platinum Card® from American Express happens to be one of the best elite cards that business owners know and love. The Amex Business Platinum card, with its $695 annual fee (rates & fees), has an impressive line-up of benefits and perks that easily justify the hefty annual fee.

One such benefit is the Adobe credit, which offers up to $150 in statement credits every year on eligible purchases. However, there are a ton of terms and conditions you’ll need to abide by in order for your purchase to qualify for this benefit, as not many Adobe purchases will trigger this statement credit.

So in this guide, we’ll show you how to use this credit for maximum value. Let’s get right into it!

How Does the Amex $150 Adobe Credit Work?

The Amex Business Platinum card‘s Adobe credit of $150 per year is valid only for a few purchases and subscriptions. We’ve seen countless stories of people trying to use their Amex Business Platinum card to pay for random Adobe purchases only to find out that they were not reimbursed. You’ll want to read the rest of this article very closely to make sure your purchase qualifies.

To start off, you will need to enroll in the Business Platinum Adobe Benefit before making any purchases or setting up any subscriptions. To do so, simply log into your Amex online account. Then, click Rewards & Benefits on the top menu, followed by Benefits. After that, hover to the Business Platinum Adobe Benefit box and click Get Started.

You’ll then see a box that looks like this:

Amex Business Platinum card enroll Adobe benefit

Check off the box that says I Understand and agree to the terms and conditions and click Enroll.

Only certain annual prepaid subscriptions will be eligible for the $150 credit, so keep that in mind, as well. Remember, only subscriptions made directly with Adobe are eligible for the $150 credit.

Lastly, annual prepaid subscriptions renew automatically every year until canceled, so keep that in mind.

After the Adobe credit is activated, simply use your Amex Business Platinum card to pay for any eligible Adobe subscription via this link, and you’ll see a statement credit of up to $150 per calendar year posted to your account within 2 to 4 weeks after the purchase is made.

If you don’t see the $150 credit, call the number on the back of your card to check on the status of the credit.

Eligible Adobe Subscriptions

Now, let’s take a look at the types of eligible subscriptions.

Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps for Teams

Adobe Creative Cloud is a suite of software applications that include:

  • Acrobat Pro
  • Acrobat Reader
  • Adobe Express
  • Aero
  • After Effects
  • Animate
  • Audition
  • Bridge
  • Capture
  • Character Animator
  • Dimension
  • Dreamweaver
  • Fill & Sign
  • Fresco
  • Illustrator
  • InCopy
  • InDesign
  • Lightroom
  • Lightroom Classic
  • Media Encoder
  • Photoshop
  • Photoshop Camera
  • Photoshop Express
  • Premiere Pro
  • Premiere Rush
  • Scan
  • XD

Adobe Creative Cloud is sold in these plans:

  • Individuals
  • Students and teachers
  • Teams

Only Teams plans are covered under Amex Business Platinum card’s $150 Adobe credit, and prepaid, annual plans start at $1,019.88 per year per license.

Some features exclusive to Teams subscriptions include:

  • Admin Console for managing licenses
  • Advanced 24/7 tech support
  • 2 1:1 expert sessions per user per year
  • Unlimited job posts using Adobe Talent
  • Slack and Microsoft Teams app integration
  • 1TB of cloud storage, Adobe Portfolio, Adobe Fonts, and access to the latest features and updates as soon as they’re released

So, using the $150 Adobe credit would save you around 15% off of your total subscription fees. For this reason, we wouldn’t necessarily recommend going out of your way to purchase an Adobe subscription just to use the Adobe credit — but it would definitely make sense to pay using your Amex Business Platinum card if you actually use Adobe software to help run your business.

Adobe Creative Cloud Single Apps for Teams

If you don’t need the complete suite of products included in Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps, you can set up an annual prepaid subscription for single apps.

All of these subscriptions must still be for Teams, though.

In other words, instead of buying the Creative Cloud package, you can purchase Adobe Creative Cloud applications à la carte.

Here’s the breakdown of how much each Creative Cloud for Teams application costs:

  • Adobe Stock — $359.88 per year per license
  • Adobe XD — $275.88 per year per license
  • After Effects — $431.88 per year per license
  • Animate — $431.88 per year per license
  • Audition — $431.88 per year per license
  • Dreamweaver — $431.88 per year per license
  • Illustrator — $431.88 per year per license
  • InCopy — $59.88 per year per license
  • InDesign — $431.88 per year per license
  • Lightroom (1TB) — $431.88 per year per license
  • Photoshop — $431.88 per year per license
  • Premiere Pro — $431.88 per year per license
  • Substance 3D Collection — $1,199.88 per year per license

Adobe Stock enables you to access millions of high-quality, royalty-free assets for your next creative project.

Adobe XD is a UI/UX software for designing, prototyping, and sharing user experiences.

After Effects creates motion graphics and visual effects for film, TV, video, and web.

Animate designs interactive vector and bitmap animations for games, apps, and the web, as well as publish content to reach viewers on desktop, mobile, and TV.

Audition allows you to create, mix, and design sound effects.

Dreamweaver is a tool to easily design, code, and publish websites and web applications that look amazing on any screen.

Illustrator creates precise designs, illustrations, and vector graphics on desktop and iPad.

InCopy helps writers and editor style text, track changes, and make simple layout modifications while designers work on the same document in InDesign, all without disrupting workflows.

InDesign focuses on print and digital media, specifically with designing pages and layouts.

Lightroom is used to edit, organize, store, and share photos from anywhere

Photoshop is designed to help create graphics, photos, and art on desktop and iPad. This subscription comes with Adobe Fresco for drawing and painting.

Premiere Pro allows you to professionally edit videos and film.

Substance 3D is a collection of 6 applications to create models, design materials, texture assets, and render scenes. These 6 applications consist of Adobe Substance 3D Painter, Adobe Substance 3D Stager, Adobe Substance 3D Designer, Adobe Substance 3D Sampler, Adobe Substance 3D Modeler, and Adobe Substance 3D Assets.

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC With E-Sign for Teams

The other way you can use your Adobe credit is to pay for an annual prepaid subscription to Adobe Acrobat Pro for Teams.

We would argue that this is actually the more productive way to use your $150 Adobe credit. That’s because it requires a much smaller annual commitment and offers some useful tools that your business can likely use.

Currently, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC now includes e-sign capabilities, so the subscription you’ll want to look for is Adobe Acrobat Pro for Teams, which starts at $287.88 per year per license for an annual prepaid plan.

Factoring in the $150 Adobe credit means you’re saving more than 50% on your subscription cost.

While Acrobat Pro is included in the Creative Cloud subscription above, this particular subscription plan probably makes more sense to you if your business doesn’t necessarily have a need for creative software for video production, photo editing, and more.

For example, if you’re a business that regularly creates PDFs and documents that require signatures, you may benefit enormously from Acrobat Pro.

Some of the most popular features of Acrobat Pro include:

  • Sign and collect unlimited signatures
  • Microsoft 365 integration
  • Export, convert, and edit PDFs (directly in the PDF)
  • Collect e-signatures from websites
  • Add custom branding
  • Create searchable, editable PDFs
  • Compare PDFs and permanently redact information
  • … and the list goes on!

Plus, your Acrobat Pro subscription comes with desktop, web, and mobile access, as well as 100GB of cloud storage.

Final Thoughts

The Amex Business Platinum card’s $150 Adobe credit is yet another example of an ultra-premium card offering unique benefits that many business owners can take advantage of.

Although you likely won’t be able to get a complimentary Adobe subscription free and clear with a $150 credit, you can get significant discounts on your subscriptions, depending on which products you use.

We personally are big fans of the Acrobat Pro subscription, since it’s a very common tool that business owners use to facilitate operations in their everyday life.

The prepaid, annual membership price is also cut by more than half when you use the $150 Adobe credit, too.

Nonetheless, there are 3 main ways to use the $150 Adobe credit:
