Visitors of Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse lounges have access to complimentary food and drink options, including the famous Clubhouse Burger. Enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner menus, and healthy and delicious snacks. The bar is stocked with outstanding wines, beers, liquors, spirits, and a delicious range of non-alcoholic drinks and sodas.

Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Eligibility

All Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse lounges are open to airline passengers with an Upper Class boarding pass, specific elite members, eligible Amex cardholders, and those flying Delta One to or from the U.K.

Unfortunately, there are no day pass options, and Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses are no longer available to travelers with a Priority Pass membership.

If you’re wondering how to get into the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, we review the options in detail below:

Upper Class or Premium Tickets on Select Airlines

One guaranteed way that you will be able to access any of those is by holding a Virgin Atlantic Upper Class ticket. Fortunately, many excellent credit card programs will help you earn enough points to book an Upper Class ticket.

American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Chase Ultimate RewardsCiti ThankYou Points, and Marriott Bonvoy points are all transferable to the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club program. The first 4 transfer with a 1:1 ratio, while Marriott Bonvoy points transfer at a 3:1 ratio.

This means you earn points with cards such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, The Platinum Card® from American Express, or the American Express® Gold Card, and then use those points to book an Upper Class ticket with Virgin Atlantic.

In addition, anyone flying on a Delta-operated flight in the Delta One cabin, in business class with Aeromexico, or connecting to an Air France La Première flight in Paris (CDG) can access Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses.

Flying Club Gold Elite Members

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold members can access the lounge and bring in 1 guest.

To achieve Gold Elite status, you must earn at least 1,000 Tier Points in 1 calendar year. For example, 1,000 Tier Points could be 2 round-trips and a one-way ticket in Upper Class, 5 flexible Premium Economy round-trip flights, or 10 Economy Delight round-trip flights.

In addition to complimentary access to Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses, Flying Club Gold members also receive perks like 60% more miles on Virgin Atlantic flights, Upper Class check-in, priority boarding, extra luggage allowance, and more.

Partner Elite Members — Worldwide

SkyTeam Elite Plus members (this includes Delta SkyMiles Gold/Platinum/Diamond and Flying Blue Gold/Platinum elites) have Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse access when traveling on any SkyTeam-operated international flight.

Partner Elite Members — London Heathrow

Note that Virgin Atlantic maintains different access rules for its flagship Clubhouse at London Heathrow. At that lounge, access is restricted to the following elite members:

  • Delta SkyMiles Diamond and Platinum members and a guest traveling on a Delta or Virgin Atlantic flight
  • Flying Blue Platinum members and a guest traveling on a Delta or Virgin Atlantic flight
  • SkyTeam Elite Plus members flying on an Aeromexico, Delta, or Virgin Atlantic flight
  • Singapore KrisFlyer Gold, Solitaire PPS Club, and PPS Club members flying on a Virgin Atlantic flight
  • Virgin Australia Velocity Club Gold, Platinum, and The Club members flying on a Virgin Atlantic flight
  • Air New Zealand Airpoints Gold and Elite members flying on Virgin Atlantic’s flights to San Francisco (SFO)

Access With Priority Pass

Several Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses — including the New York (JFK), San Francisco (SFO), and Washington, D.C. (IAD) locations — participate in the Priority Pass program. You can get a complimentary Priority Pass membership as a perk of holding certain credit cards, including the Amex Platinum card, The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, and more.

Final Thoughts

Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses provide an exceptional lounge experience to their guests. Between the stellar food and drink options and amenities, including wellness spas and onsite showers, the lounges are a perfect place to rest, indulge, and charge those devices while waiting for your flight.

As Virgin Atlantic continues to expand its U.S. Clubhouse lounge network, we will update this post as regularly as possible so you’ve got the most up-to-date information.
