The Edit by Chase Travel (formerly the Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection from Chase) is a collection of high-end properties around the world that offer exclusive benefits to select Chase cardmembers.

In this post, we’ll show you all of the perks offered by The Edit by Chase, plus we’ll help you determine if you’re eligible for this program.

What Is The Edit by Chase Travel?

The Edit by Chase Travel is a booking platform available to select Chase credit cardholders. When you book a hotel through this program, you’ll enjoy extra benefits and perks like resort credits, free breakfast, and upgrades.

This hotel benefit is similar to the American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts program, which offers perks at luxury hotels to select American Express cardmembers.

How To Book Hotels in The Edit by Chase Portfolio

You can book a hotel within The Edit collection online through Chase Travel. Hotels that are part of The Edit should be clearly marked and show up at the top of the search results list.

Strangely, those accessing The Edit with a United credit card still need to go through the old Luxury Hotels & Resorts Collection website to book.

Hotels in The Edit collection can be booked with your eligible card, your Chase Ultimate Rewards points, or a combination of both.

Chase Ultimate Rewards

The Edit by Chase Travel Benefits

  • Daily breakfast for 2 people

  • Room upgrade at check-in (if available)
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Early check-in and late check-out (if available)

Price Comparisons

Let’s take a look at whether or not it makes sense to book a hotel through The Edit.

Example 1: Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme

Park Hyatt Paris Vendome

We priced out a 1-night stay for 2 people at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme in France. Notably, the rate through The Edit was significantly higher than booking directly through Hyatt as a World of Hyatt member.

The price difference between booking through The Edit versus booking through Hyatt was $185.47. However, after taking into account the $100 property credit and free breakfast for 2, it’s a closer matchup.

Booked through The Edit, refundable

$1,766.94

Booked through Hyatt, member rate, refundable

$1,581.47

The continental breakfast at Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme costs about $45 per person, so the rate through The Edit would actually come out a bit cheaper (and come with a possible room upgrade, early check-in, and late checkout.)

And if you’re wondering about your elite status, Chase says those with the Chase Sapphire Reserve card and the J.P Morgan Reserve card and who book through The Edit will still receive elite benefits (in this example, great news for those who have World of Hyatt Globalist status) and will earn elite-qualifying nights and points for their stays.

Example 2: Four Seasons Hotel Chicago

We priced out a 3-night stay for 2 people at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. If you don’t care about booking a nonrefundable rate, you could save over $460 by booking directly through the hotel. However, flexibility can be an important factor for many travelers.

In this case, the refundable rate offered through The Edit by Chase is the same (actually 1 cent cheaper) as booking direct. Since booking through The Edit comes with benefits like a $100 property credit and daily breakfast for 2, it would definitely be the best option in this case.

Example 3: Cap Maison Resort & Spa, St. Lucia

Let’s see how the prices stack up for a 7-night stay for 2 people at Cap Maison Resort & Spa in St. Lucia.

Total Price

$4,455.36

The price is exactly the same whether you book through The Edit or through the hotel. Since booking through The Edit also comes with a $100 property credit, a room upgrade (if available), and early check-in and/or late checkout (when available), it makes sense to book through Chase in this scenario. (Breakfast comes with the room rate when booked directly through the hotel, so it’s not a factor in this example.)

Hot Tip:

Normally, when you book hotels through Chase Travel using the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, you earn 10x points per dollar. However, this excludes The Edit. You earn 3 points per dollar on hotels within The Edit collection.

Final Thoughts

The Edit by Chase Travel is a curated collection of high-end hotels that offers special perks to select Chase cardholders. These perks include benefits like room upgrades, free breakfast for 2, and a $100 property credit.

Booking through The Edit won’t necessarily be the cheapest option, but the added benefits can often make it a better deal than booking elsewhere.

The information regarding the J.P. Morgan Reserve Card was independently collected by Upgraded Points and not provided nor reviewed by the issuer.
